Plastics Dialogue explores cooperation, standards and harmonization of trade measures
WTO members participating in the Dialogue on Plastics Pollution and Environmentally Sustainable Plastics Trade (DPP) gathered on 13 February to discuss the last three of the eight key focus areas outlined in their 2025 workplan. The discussions focused on supporting ongoing multilateral negotiations at the United Nations to reduce plastics pollution, strengthening cooperation on standards for non-plastic substitutes and alternatives, and exploring strategies to harmonize trade-related measures for single-use plastics. Potential outcomes for the 14th Ministerial Conference (MC14), to be held in March 2026, were also discussed.
