DDG Paugam: Climate crisis requires scaled-up response from trade community
In remarks delivered on 15 November to the Coalition of Trade Ministers for Climate at the COP29 climate summit in Baku, Azerbaijan, Deputy Director-General Jean-Marie Paugam said the trade community needs to scale up its response to the climate crisis through initiatives such as fostering coherent and interoperable trade-related climate measures and accelerating the deployment of green technologies. He praised the Coalition for serving as the “beating heart” of trade for climate mobilisation and underlined the important role of the WTO and the multilateral trading system in advancing these goals.
