WTO members review 30 years of trade development in least-developed countries

To mark its 100th session, the Sub-Committee on Least-Developed Countries (LDCs) on 11 November looked at the progress made over the past 30 years in advancing LDCs’ integration into global trade. LDCs’ share in world exports of goods and commercial services has nearly doubled during this period, but it is still only around 1 per cent, speakers stressed. The meeting brought together ministers and senior representatives of WTO members to discuss the challenges and opportunities facing LDCs.
