Identity and access management startup OTPless has roped in former BharatPe executive Geetanshu Singla as its new chief technology officer (CTO).

Singla has taken charge as the CTO of the startup nearly ten months after Anubhav Mathur stepped down from the role in January this year.

“I have worked very closely with Satyam Nathani and Tanmay Sagar during my BharatPe days. We have built together, solved some really hard problems together and spent countless hours discussing tech, scale and products. So joining OTPless doesn’t really feel like joining a new company. In many ways, it feels like coming back home,” wrote Singla in a LinkedIn post.

It is pertinent to note that Singla formerly previously served as head of engineering at fintech unicorn BharatPe. OTPless cofounders Bhavik Koladiya, Satyam Nathani and Tanmay Sagar were founding members at BharatPe. Singla stepped down from his role at the fintech unicorn in 2023.

He subsequently cofounded GenWise, a lifestyle app for senior citizens, along with fellow BharatPe alumni Nehul Malhotra and Rajat Jain. The startup went on to raise a $3.5 Mn seed round led by Z47, but eventually shut shop in December 2025.

After GenWise’s shutdown, Singla worked at Singapore-based wealthtech platform Syfe as an engineering leader for around a year before joining OTPless now.

Singla’s appointment as CTO comes in the middle of a major top-level reshuffle at OTPless. Just last month, cofounder Koladiya stepped down as OTPless’ CEO with Nathani taking up the mantle. At the same time, Sagar was named the company’s COO. Last week, Manas Poddar was also elevated to the post of chief business officer (CBO).

Founded in 2021, OTPless helps consumer internet enterprises offer authentication services through its SDKs and APIs. Its offerings include silent network authentication, WhatsApp authentication, device intelligence, and passkeys.

The Bengaluru-based startup’s offerings are aimed at reducing dependence on OTPs, PINs, and passwords while enabling enterprises to identify users, prevent fraud, and improve conversion during sign-ups and transactions.

The startup claims to have authenticated more than 30 Cr mobile users so far and serves enterprises such as Meesho, Navi, PhysicsWallah, ShareChat, Shiprocket and Zepto. It also claims to be clocking ₹36 Cr in annualised revenue and has been profitable for the past two quarters.

On the funding front, OTPless has raised over $6 Mn to date from the likes of Venture Highway, White Venture, FJ Labs, SIDBI, Piper Serica, among others.

At the heart of all this is the Indian identity and access management market, which is projected to become a $1.7 Bn opportunity by 2030.
