D2C Smart Crib Brand Cradlewise Raises $12 Mn To Expand Product Portfolio

D2C smart crib brand Cradlewise has raised $12 Mn (about ₹xx Cr) in a Series A funding round led by 3one4 Capital and Prudent Investment Management.
The San Francisco-headquartered startup plans to deploy the fresh capital towards growth, channel expansion, product R&D, and entry into new international markets.
Cradlewise, which currently sells its products through its own website and ecommerce marketplaces, plans to widen its distribution through offline retail stores, partnerships, and other channels. The startup said the strategy would help it reach parents across multiple touchpoints without relying on a single route to market.
Founded in 2019 by husband-wife duo Radhika and Bharath Patil, Cradlewise manufactures an AI-enabled smart crib that uses sensors and an integrated monitor to detect when a baby begins stirring. It then automatically bounces the crib to help soothe the baby back to sleep.
The crib connects to an app that allows parents to monitor their baby remotely, track sleep patterns, and access sleep-related insights. The system also learns a baby’s individual sleep patterns over time to personalise its response.
Cradlewise’s products currently cater to children aged up to 24 months.
The startup said its technology is backed by patents covering its hardware and sensing systems. Its connected products have generated more than 75 Mn hours of sleep data, which it uses to improve sleep detection, predict when a baby may stir, and personalise the experience.
With the fresh funding, the D2C startup plans to expand its portfolio beyond cribs and develop sleep products for older children.
Its roadmap includes software-led sleep routines, other child sleep hardware products, lower-priced entry points, and reusable sensing and electronics modules that could shorten future product development cycles.
The latest round takes Cradlewise’s total funding raised to $26 Mn. Its investors include Sean O’Sullivan Ventures, Footwork VC, Charles River Ventures, 3one4 Capital, and Prudent Investment Management.
Prior to this, Cradlewise raised $7 Mn in its seed funding round in 2021.
Sleeptech Opportunity Expands
The development comes at a time when India’s sleeptech market is moving beyond its traditional mattress-led playbook.
While new-age brands initially disrupted the category by making mattresses and other sleep essentials more accessible through the D2C model, the opportunity is now expanding into a broader ecosystem of technology-led sleep products.
DUSQ, initially launched as InnerGize, raised ₹24 Cr in February to develop wearables designed to regulate sleep using vagus nerve stimulation and smart sensors, instead of merely tracking sleep metrics.
The shift is also visible among established consumer brands.
In 2024, mattress brand Wakefit entered the sleep technology segment with its Zense platform, which uses connected technology to track sleep patterns and offer insights into sleep quality, movement, and other physiological parameters. It also allows users to optimise their sleeping environment.
