Asiana Fund, the investment platform of the Dani Family Office, and Taiwan-based VC firm JC Capital have launched the ₹1,000 Cr Asiana-JCC Advanced Manufacturing & Innovation Fund.

The fund comprises a primary corpus of ₹600 Cr and a greenshoe option of ₹400 Cr. Sponsors from Asiana Fund and JC Capital will collectively commit more than 20% of the fund corpus.

It will primarily invest in Series A and Series B startups operating across advanced manufacturing and robotics, semiconductors and computing, materials and sustainability, and aerospace and defence. The fund plans to build a portfolio of 12 to 15 startups, with a portion of the corpus reserved for follow-on investments.

Its initial deal pipeline includes startups working on compound semiconductors, motion-control systems for EVs and robotics, secure silicon, smart grids, robotic vision, and optoelectronics.

Beyond providing capital, the fund will seek to facilitate collaboration between Indian startups and Taiwan’s technology ecosystem. It plans to support technology and know-how transfers, connect portfolio startups with global supply chains and strategic partners, and assist them with manufacturing scale-up and international expansion.

The partnership combines Asiana Fund’s experience in India’s industrial and technology sectors with JC Capital’s network across Taiwan’s semiconductor and electronics ecosystem.

More than 80% of JC Capital’s investors are corporate limited partners across the US, Japan, Taiwan, and Malaysia. The VC firm said this network would help portfolio startups access technology partners, supply chains, and international markets.

Founded in 2017, Asiana Fund has deployed more than ₹700 Cr across 11 private equity investments. Its portfolio spans advanced manufacturing, robotics, drones, medtech, and cleantech.

The investment platform was founded by Asian Paints co-promoter Jalaj Dani, who is also the chairman of aerospace startup EndureAir and robotics startup Addverb.

JC Capital, meanwhile, has invested more than ₹1,000 Cr across 30 startups since its launch in 2019. Its investment portfolio spans semiconductors, artificial intelligence, and clean technology.

The fund’s launch comes as the Indian government seeks to expand the country’s domestic semiconductor and electronics manufacturing capabilities through initiatives such as the India Semiconductor Mission and production-linked incentive schemes.

Electronics and IT minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said at Semicon India 2026 yesterday that global companies have committed around ₹1 Lakh Cr under the Semicon 2.0 initiative to strengthen India’s electronics and semiconductor value chain.

US-based semiconductor equipment maker Applied Materials also committed to investing $5 Bn in India over the next decade to expand its research, engineering, and manufacturing presence.
