Exclusive: Leverage Edu Taps Bankers For ₹2,000 Cr-3,000 Cr IPO

Study abroad startup Leverage Edu has begun discussions with investment bankers as it eyes an IPO in the next 12-18 months, sources told Inc42.
The startup has held discussions with both domestic as well as international investment bankers, the sources said.
Leverage Edu is looking to raise ₹2,000-3,000 Cr via its public issue which will comprise a fresh issue of shares as well as an offer for sale (OFS). The breakup between the fresh issue and OFS will be decided later, the sources added.
The startup is eyeing a valuation of over $900 Mn for the IPO. Inc42 accessed some of the pitch decks prepared by the bankers for Leverage Edu. The bankers are positioning Leverage Edu alongside platform startups such as Zomato and ixigo, with expectations of similar valuation multiples.
Questions sent to Leverage Edu didn’t elicit any response till the time of publishing this story.
Founded in 2017 by Akshay Chaturvedi, Leverage Edu is a study abroad platform that helps students apply to foreign universities. Besides the Leverage Edu app, it offers courses through Leverage IELTS and Leverage TOEFL apps.
It has raised a total funding of about $73 Mn to date from investors like Blume Ventures, DSG Consumer Partners, Kaizenvest, among others.
Last week, Leverage Edu said its revenue zoomed 112% YoY to ₹375 Cr in FY26 from ₹173 Cr in the previous year. The startup also claimed that it turned EBITDA positive in the last fiscal year.
Leverage Edu said its horizontal stack spanning fintech, accommodation, travel, and career support now accounts for between 25-33% of its total revenue. The startup said it added over 55,000 users during the year, taking its total customer base to over 1.75 Lakh.
The development comes amid an IPO boom in the Indian new-age tech segment. Over 20 new-age tech companies have filed their DRHPs with SEBI, while over 23 are in various stages of finalising their IPO plans. Besides, five new-age tech companies got listed in the first three months of 2026.
