Amazon To Expand Quick Commerce Service To 100 Cities In India

Ecommerce giant Amazon plans to expand its quick commerce service ‘Amazon Now’ to 100 cities across India as it looks to strengthen its presence in the rapidly growing segment.
In a statement, the company said it plans to scale its fulfilment infrastructure to more than 1,000 micro-fulfilment centres (MFCs), enabling delivery of daily essentials within minutes.
The service, which is currently available in Mumbai, Delhi NCR, and Bengaluru, will be progressively rolled out across metros and non-metros, including Pune, Hyderabad, Chennai, Kolkata, Jaipur, Lucknow, Kanpur, Chandigarh, Ahmedabad, Meerut, Mysore, Panipat, among others.
Harsh Goyal, vice president of everyday essentials at Amazon India, said the company has accelerated its expansion plans and expects the move to help more than 16,000 farmers use Amazon’s technology and operations to directly reach customers through sellers on Amazon Now.
Amazon Now offers a curated range of products, including groceries such as fruits and vegetables, frozen food, personal care items, fashion and beauty products, small appliances, baby products, pet supplies, and healthcare supplements.
The expansion is part of Amazon India’s ₹2,800 Cr (about $300 Mn) investment announced last week. The ecommerce giant then said that a chunk of the capital would be directed toward strengthening its quick commerce business and doubling its presence in the segment.
Amazon Now currently operates around 300 MFCs across Delhi NCR, Mumbai, and Bengaluru, and plans to more than double its footprint across these cities by the end of 2026.
The latest investment follows Amazon India’s earlier ₹2,000 Cr investment, which added 17 new fulfilment centres, six sortation centres, and 75 last-mile delivery stations across the country. Last year, the company committed an investment of $35 Bn (about ₹3.15 Lakh Cr) across its India businesses by 2030 to increase cumulative exports from India to $80 Bn.
Amazon Now was launched in Bengaluru in June 2025 and later expanded to parts of Delhi in July 2025 and subsequently to Mumbai. With its wider rollout, Amazon is looking to compete more aggressively with established players such as Blinkit, Zepto, and Swiggy Instamart, as well as newer entrants like Flipkart Minutes and Reliance’s JioMart.
The quick commerce service of Amazon’s rival Flipkart, Flipkart Minutes, scaled to 800 dark stores in the first quarter of 2026. Flipkart is targeting 1,200 dark stores in the near term, with plans to expand to nearly 250 cities by June 2026.
At the heart of this push is the country’s rising quick commerce market, which is projected to become a $40 Bn opportunity by 2030.
