Mumbai-based digital entertainment startup Rusk Media has raised ₹100 Cr (about $10.6 Mn) in its pre-series C funding round led by existing investor Nazara Technologies, with participation from InfoEdge Ventures, IvyCap Ventures and a consortium led by Audacity VC.

The startup plans to use the capital to grow its sports audio content platform called Alright! TV, while a part of it will be used to build proprietary AI tools that reduce production costs, increase content velocity, and unlock scalable brand solutions.

Some of the funds will also be utilised for scaling intellectual properties like its flagship talent reality franchise called I-Popstar and unscripted reality dating show named Engaged to new languages and international audiences. Rusk Media also plans to launch a new pipeline of sports and audio-first content formats targeting Gen Z and Gen Alpha consumers.

Rusk Media also said that representatives from Nazara Technologies and Audacity VC will join its board following the round.

Founded in 2019 by Yadav, Shananu Singh and Karanvir Sofat, Rusk Media makes digital content across fiction and non-fiction categories, targeting Gen Z audiences under brands such as Alright! (fictional channel), Playground (gaming entertainment), and LIT (food, fashion and travel). It also counts OTT platforms such as Amazon MX Player and JioHotstar among its clients.

Prior to this round, Rusk Media raised ₹103 Cr in its Series B round, which was a mix of both primary and secondary transactions involving IvyCap Ventures, LC Nueva, InfoEdge Ventures, Woori Venture Partners and the startup’s promoters and family, in October 2025.

The development comes at a time when the digital entertainment industry is witnessing rapid growth, particularly in emerging segments such as micro-dramas and AI-generated fiction. According to IMARC, India’s digital media market is projected to reach $111.2 Bn by 2034.

Investors are increasingly betting on this opportunity, backing startups building new-age entertainment platforms and content formats. For instance, AI-powered entertainment startup Mythik raised $5 Mn (₹48.4 Cr) last month to recreate Indian mythology, history and folk stories into short, high-quality videos, each lasting 10-12 minutes.
