W Health Ventures Marks Close Of Fund II At ₹700 Cr

Healthtech-focused VC firm W Health Ventures has closed its second fund at ₹700 Cr (about $84 Mn), sailing past its original target corpus of ₹630 Cr. A combination of family offices and institutional investors from India and the US were the limited partners (LPs) that backed the fund.
Launched in July 2025, the fund marked its first close in February at ₹550 Cr ($60.6 Mn), it targeted to back eight to ten early stage healthtech startups over the next four years, from pre-idea stage to growth stages startups in India and the US.
W Health Ventures’ managing partner Pankaj Jethwani told Inc42 that the firm looks to identify concepts at a very early age and then spends a fairly large amount of time pressure-testing these ideas.
“Once we pick the area we’re most excited about, we build a founding team around it and surround that team with resources. We have about a 50-person in-house team of technologists, entrepreneurs, and clinicians. From there, it’s a collaborative build to bring these companies to scale — we act as co-founders of the business,” he added.
Via the second fund, the firm has established two startups and has poured in capital so far. Firstly, it partnered with Narayana Health to set up Everhope Oncology, a cancer care platform and infused $10 Mn (about ₹86 Cr) in March 2025. It launched Everbright Health in the US and infused $7 Mn, along with Sanos Capital, in October 2025.
Founded in 2020 by Sunil Wadhwani and headquartered in Mumbai, W Health Ventures builds healthcare companies from pre-idea to category leader across India and the US-India corridor. The fund typically writes cheques in the range of ₹30 Cr to ₹50 Cr, and has backed 12 startups in India and the US via its first fund, including Wysa, BeatO, Mylo, Reveal, and BabyMD.
W Health’s fund close comes at a time when India’s healthtech funding market is undergoing a reset, with investors becoming more selective about digital-health business models.
The firm is also part of a broader shift among venture investors towards company creation, as funds increasingly look to participate earlier than the traditional pre-seed or seed stage.
Instead of waiting for founders to build businesses around identified opportunities, these firms are identifying problems themselves, validating the opportunity and assembling founding teams.
