Mukesh Bansal-led enterprise AI startup Nurix AI announced its plans to acquire Verloop.io to expand its offerings across both voice and chat-based AI solutions. The companies did not disclose the financial details of the transaction.

With the acquisition, Nurix would look to bolster its flagship voice AI platform NuPlay by adding Verloop’s voice AI platform. As per a statement issued by Nurix, the acquired business currently automates more than 2 Cr customer interactions for its clients every month.

Beside, the acquisition also expands Nurix’s ability to support enterprises that need AI agents across both synchronous voice interactions and asynchronous chat-led journeys.

The acquisition comes at a time when competition in the enterprise AI market is shifting beyond standalone chatbots to full-stack AI platforms.

Startups are increasingly combining voice, chat and workflow automation capabilities as enterprises look to deploy AI across multiple customer touchpoints instead of using separate tools for each use case.

For Nurix, whose client base includes the likes of super.money, Myntra, Cult.fit and Aditya Birla Capital, the amalgamation will give an additional jolt to its client base as well as its talent stack.  Verloop’s founder Gaurav Singh will join the startup’s leadership team to oversee product strategy, enterprise go-to-market and AI agent development.

For context, Verloop was incorporated in 2016, eight years prior to Bansal’s establishing Nurix AI.

Verloop automates customer support, sales, and marketing. It provides AI-powered chatbots and voice agents to handle inbound and outbound conversations across 80+ languages. The startup’s enterprise client base spans 21+ industries, primarily focusing on high-volume, synchronous voice and asynchronous chat-led workflows across India, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia.

Over the past decade, Verloop raised close to $8 Mn from investors like MEMG’s Ranjan Pai, IDFC-Parampara Fund, Praitithi Investment Trust, Kris Gopalakrishnan, among others.

For Nurix, the acquisition comes shortly after a major fund raise exercise. Earlier in March, Inc42 reported that the startup had raised ₹135 Cr from Prosus to expand its market share in India and the US, and building some core technology differentiators.

The startup, which had earlier raised $27.5 Mn in a seed-cum-Series A funding round back in September 2024, bagged the fresh capital at a pre-money valuation of $67 Mn.

At the heart of the amalgamation activity is the rapidly growing enterprise AI segment, with startups such as Yellow.ai, Haptik, Gupshup, Skit.ai and KOGO AI expanding their offerings as businesses accelerate AI adoption.

Founded in 2024 by Bansal and Abhishek Asawa, Nurix AI builds AI-powered voice and chat agents for enterprise customer service, sales and operational workflows.

The startup counts super.money, Myntra, Cult.fit and Aditya Birla Capital among its customers. Earlier this year, it raised ₹135 Cr in funding from Prosus and its existing investors, including General Catalyst and Accel, to expand its presence in India and the US and strengthen its AI infrastructure.

With the acquisition, Nurix AI will combine its voice AI platform, NuPlay, with Verloop.io’s chat automation capabilities. Verloop.io currently powers more than 20 Mn customer interactions every month across sectors such as banking, fintech, retail and telecom in India and the Middle East.

The deal also brings Verloop.io’s enterprise customer base and expertise in chat-based automation to Nurix AI, allowing the combined company to offer AI agents across voice, chat and other customer engagement channels.

Founded by Gaurav Singh, Verloop.io competes in the enterprise conversational AI space alongside players such as Haptik, Yellow.ai, Gupshup and Skit.ai.

The startup will now become part of Nurix AI, while Singh will join the company’s leadership team to oversee product strategy, enterprise go-to-market and AI agent development.

Enterprise AI is projected to grow from $11 Bn in 2025 to $71 Bn by 2030, roughly a 6.5X surge, as per Google and Inc42’s Bharat AI Startups Report, 2026.
