Khosla Ventures-Backed Healthify Merges With US-Based Berry Street

Bengaluru-based healthtech startup Healthify (formerly HealthifyMe) has merged with US-based nutrition care company Berry Street to build an “advanced insurance-covered AI metabolic health platform” for the US market.
The amalgamated entity will be jointly led by Healthify founder and CEO Tushar Vashisht and Berry Street founder and CEO Noah Kotlove as co-CEOs. Financial details of the merger remain undisclosed.
The entity will operate under the Healthify label in India and other markets and under the Berry Street brand in the US market.
With the merger, Healthify’s AI platform, Ria, will be combined with Berry Street’s metabolic health platform to deliver expert metabolic care to patients.
Healthify claims to have served more than 45 Mn users with its GLP-1 weight management initiative, which includes a patient support program with Novo Nordisk.
Meanwhile, Berry Street is a US-based nutrition therapy platform that connects patients with registered dietitians for virtual, insurance-covered care. It also handles insurance, billing and administrative work for dietitians, while providing tools for virtual consultations and patient management.
“Healthify’s mission has been to put a dietitian in every human’s pocket. We have spent a decade proving that AI can drive life-changing outcomes at scale. Berry Street gives us the clinical backbone and the coverage infrastructure to deliver that promise to the US market at a scale no one has achieved before. This is the combination the industry has been waiting for,” Vashisht said.
Founded in 2012 by Vashisht, Mathew Cherian, and Sachin Shenoy, Healthify started as a health and fitness app that helped users track their diet, fitness and weight and connect with coaches. Both Cherian and Shenoy have exited the startup over the years.
The startup has raised $150 Mn in funding from investors like Khosla Ventures, Blume Ventures, Chiratae Ventures, among others.
