Housing finance platform Nivasa Finance has secured ₹25 Cr (about $2.6 Mn) in its seed funding round from Prime Venture Partners, Blume Ventures, Whiteboard Capital, and a group of undisclosed angel investors.

The startup plans to deploy the capital to expand its geographical presence over the next 12 months, strengthen its distribution network and partnerships with banks, NBFCs and HFCs. It also plans to use the capital to double down on expanding its field execution network.

Nivasa Finance, founded in 2025 by Samit Shetty and Hitesh Saraf, is a tech-enabled home loan distribution platform that connects borrowers with banks and NBFCs for affordable housing finance. It acts as a loan fulfillment platform for underserved borrowers to provide them formal credit to build homes in rural and semi-urban markets.

Currently, the Bengaluru-based startup has partnerships with over 10 lending partners, including banks, SFBs, HFCs, and NBFCs. It claims to have disbursed loans worth over ₹20 Cr, piloting the model in Mysore and Mandya districts of Karnataka.

Nivasa is also working towards securing an NBFC licence to strengthen its role within the secured lending ecosystem in India.

Unlike traditional methods, Nivasa claims to combine remote onboarding, assessment and matchmaking with doorstep service to improve conversion rates and the experience of both borrowers and lenders.

The startup has built customer-facing digital interfaces and WhatsApp-led and app-based journeys to simplify onboarding and improve accessibility for borrowers in non-metro markets.

The funding comes at a time when a number of emerging startups and NBFCs are leveraging rising digitisation to provide formal credit to underserved borrowers. These startups are also seeing a lot of interest from investors as they look to capitalise on the huge opportunity which the formalisation of the informal credit market provides.

For instance, Finfinity raised $2.4 Mn (about ₹22.50 Cr) in its seed funding round in March, to strengthen its technology platform, with a focus on personalisation and risk intelligence. Prior to that, Easy Home Finance raised $30 Mn (₹276 Cr) in its Series C funding round in January to accelerate expansion into new markets across India.
