Cafe chain Alienkind has raised $3.2 Mn (about ₹30 Cr) in its pre-Series A funding round from a clutch of existing investors to fuel its expansion across India.

The round saw participation from Super.Money founder Prakash Sikaria, Flipkart’s senior VP Ravi Iyer, Bain & Company’s global head of innovation Arpan Sheth, among others.

The fresh capital will be deployed to expand Alienkind’s footprint into new markets and support its next phase of growth, the startup said in a statement.

Founded in 2024 by Vikram Kakkireni and Abhishek Kumar, Alienkind is positioning itself as a design and culture-led cafe brand aimed at Gen Z and young consumers. Rather than operating as a conventional food and beverage chain, the startup said it is focused on creating immersive retail spaces, category-defining products and community-led experiences.

Alienkind offers a sci-fi-inspired menu featuring superfood-based beverages, layered fruit drinks, burgers and sandwiches, with products designed around a futuristic retail experience.

The brand currently operates eight outlets across India, with five in Bengaluru and three in Delhi. It plans to open four more outlets over the coming month as part of its expansion plans.

Alienkind claimed it is on track to achieve an annual recurring revenue (ARR) of $10 Mn by the end of FY27. It is aiming to scale its offline footprint to 100 stores across India’s key cities by FY28.

The fundraise comes amid growing interest in India’s organised food and beverage sector, particularly niche and premium QSR brands such as coffee chains, Korean fusion concepts and cloud kitchen operators, driven by growth in Tier II & III cities.

The segment has seen a steady stream of deals in recent months. Earlier this month, F&B brand Foodstories raised ₹50 Cr in its Series B funding round from Zerodha cofounder Nikhil Kamath.

In March, Burger Singh raised ₹82 Cr in its Series B round at a valuation of ₹520 Cr to expand its franchise network, while boba tea chain Boba Bhai secured ₹40 Cr.
