Ecommerce giant Flipkart has launched a standalone app for its quick commerce service, Minutes.

The app, which is still in beta mode, is live on Google Play Store. However, it is only available for a select number of users. Inc42 could verify the availability of the service in limited pockets of Delhi NCR.

On the app, Minutes claims to offer “zero platform fees” and free deliveries on orders above ₹99. Besides offering discounts on key categories, the app hosts products such as kitchen staples, fruits, gourmet items, among others.

This comes barely a day after Flipkart began piloting its food delivery service, called Eat In, among its employees in Bengaluru. The Walmart-owned ecommerce giant reportedly plans to roll out the offering to all Flipkart employees by September 15, before debuting the food delivery platform for consumers in Bengaluru.

The expansion comes as Flipkart, in June, said that it had scaled Minutes to 1,000 micro-fulfilment centres across 130 cities and more than 8,000 pin codes. At the time, Flipkart Minutes head Kunal Gupta said that the company plans to expand the network to 1,500 centres across 180 cities.
