Exclusive: Robotics Startup Alphadroid Raises $3.8 Mn From Alkemi, Others

Robotics startup Alphadroid has raised ₹36 Cr (around $3.8 Mn) in its pre-Series A funding round led by Alkemi Growth Capital, with participation from Shree Vasu Logistics Limited (SVLL) and a host of undisclosed HNIs.
The Delhi NCR-based startup plans to deploy the fresh funds to expand its product portfolio, acquire new clients, and grow its team with a focus on engineering and R&D. Alphadroid also plans to develop specialised solutions for the healthcare sector and expand its services into the logistics and warehousing segment.
Founded in 2023 by Sanjeev Kumar and incubated at IIIT Lucknow, Alphadroid is building integrated automation systems combining hardware and software. While it began by offering AI-powered robots for the hospitality sector, it has since expanded into healthcare, retail, and public infrastructure to improve efficiency and reduce manual workload.
Alphadroid founder Kumar told Inc42 that the startup’s primary target is to help Indian companies with automation via its robot-as-a-service offering. “Our intent is to build solutions that are truly fit for India. International expansion can come later. Automation is a necessity here, even though it is often overlooked. Our focus is to first create something that works in India. If it works here, it can work anywhere in the world,” he said.
Alphadroid’s product portfolio currently includes five different types of robots which are capable of handling payloads weighing from 40 kg to 250 kg. These robots can interact with lift, back-end systems, or any other third-party application, Kumar added.
The startup offers robot services via a subscription model. Its monthly subscription amount varies from ₹25,000 to ₹80,000. It counts the likes of Nestle, Bikanerwala, Emami, and Reliance Smart among its customers.
Notably, Alkemi backs pre-Series A to Series B startups across healthcare, consumer wellness, diagnostics, medtech, pharma, and health-AI deeptech sectors. The investor counts the likes of
Redcliffe Labs, Farmley, Pee Safe, Doceree, among others, in its portfolio.
The funding comes at a time when several homegrown startups are building autonomous robots to automate labour-incentive workflows across industries. With the rising demand for automation, these startups are also seeing strong investor interest.
For instance, Inc42 reported yesterday that General Autonomy raised ₹32 Cr in its seed round to build advanced AI-driven humanoid robots capable of navigation, manipulation, and cleaning and handling tools, with the broader goal of making robotics more affordable and scalable.
Similarly, Unbox Robotics raised $28 Mn in its Series B round earlier this year to expand its presence across India and select international markets. The startup builds modular robotics systems for automating warehouses.
