IPO-bound study abroad platform Leverage Edu is targeting ₹600 Cr in revenue in FY27, up over 60% from the ₹372 Cr it reported in FY26, sources told Inc42.

The startup’s management wants to reach this revenue milestone before taking it public. Alongside its listing preparations, Leverage Edu is exploring a ₹500 Cr pre-IPO funding round to bring a large private equity firm onto its cap table.

The startup has held talks with a couple of global PE firms and is expected to close the round soon, the sources said.

“Akshay has committed to the board that the company will list by the end of next year. He is currently out in the market to finalise investment bankers for the IPO,” one of the sources said, referring to founder and CEO Akshay Chaturvedi.

Leverage Edu did not respond to Inc42’s questions till the time of publication.

Preparing For A Public Listing

Inc42 earlier exclusively reported that the startup is planning a ₹2,000–3,000 Cr IPO, comprising a fresh issue of shares and an OFS. The split between the two components is yet to be decided.

The startup is targeting a valuation of over $900 Mn for the IPO. Pitch decks prepared by investment bankers and accessed by Inc42 position Leverage Edu alongside platform businesses such as Zomato, ixigo, and Shadowfax, with expectations of similar valuation multiples.

It turned EBITDA profitable in FY26, posting an EBITDA of ₹9.5 Cr, according to the sources.

Meanwhile, Leverage Edu has been expanding its international presence. In July, Inc42 reported that the startup entered South America through the acquisition of Brazil-based international education company Mundus Agency. Leverage Edu confirmed the acquisition but did not disclose the deal’s financial terms.

Founded in 2017 by Chaturvedi, Leverage Edu helps students apply to foreign universities. Besides its flagship app, it offers courses through the Leverage IELTS and Leverage TOEFL apps.

The startup’s services spanning fintech, accommodation, travel, and career support account for 25–33% of its total revenue. It also claimed to have added over 55,000 students in FY26, taking its total customer base to over 1.75 Lakh.

Leverage Edu has raised about $73 Mn in funding to date from investors including Blume Ventures, DSG Consumer Partners, and Kaizenvest.
