ET Now Acquires OpiGo To Expand Its Investment Platform

Media giant Times Network has acquired fintech startup OpiGo for an undisclosed amount as part of ET NOW’s expansion into investor-focused financial services.
With the acquisition, OpiGo’s platform, which helped retail investors better understand their investment thesis, will be integrated within its premium investor subscription platform, ET NOW Pro.
Founded in 2022 by Devansh Mehta, OpiGo provides stock recommendations from SEBI-registered experts, giving insights into short-term trades, long-term investments, and industries or sectors. The platform provides investors access to community-driven opinions on various stocks.
The fintech startup has raised a pre-seed funding round of $168K (₹1.4 Cr) in 2024 from angel investors including Shubham Satyarth and Manish Choksi.
OpiGo’s acquisition helps ET NOW Pro bring live trade ideas, recommendations from SEBI-registered research analysts, investor communities, premium financial content, market insights, and access to its Pay TV channel under one offering.
Launched in 2023, ET Now is a digital business news platform. Post the merger, it will expand beyond business news into a broader financial intelligence and investor engagement platform.
The app also gives a thorough breakdown of critical investment information like price to earnings, price to book, return on equity, revenues, profit/loss, among others.
“Joining forces with ET NOW will scale this vision significantly and create a trusted destination where investors can seamlessly access quality content, expert research and investing tools within one integrated ecosystem,” OpiGo’s Mehta said.
The deal is in line with a wider shift in India’s financial services market, where brands have increasingly looked to monetise their audiences through advisory, community, and subscription-led products.
India’s fintech sector has also seen stronger demand for compliance-first investing platforms as SEBI tightened oversight of research analysts and investment advisors.
