Econovus Nets ₹40 Cr To Expand Sustainable Industrial Packaging

Industrial packaging startup Econovus Packaging has raised ₹40 Cr (about $4.2 Mn) in its maiden institutional funding round. The pre-Series A funding round led by Rainmatter by Zerodha, with participation from Rockstud Capital.
The fresh capital will help the B2B packaging startup expand its presence into high-growth sectors like automotive, lithium-ion batteries, solar infrastructure, steel and defence.
Founded in 2019 by Ramesh Prasad, Econovus provides bespoke, end-to-end industrial packaging and design solutions. It develops industrial packaging solutions using engineered, IP-backed materials, space optimisation and a “design-to-cost” approach to help manufacturers lower packaging costs and reduce carbon emissions.
Its product portfolio includes packaging solutions for lithium-ion batteries, heavy-duty export packaging, returnable and expendable packaging, and automotive packaging.
The Pune-based startup said that its packaging solutions improve container utilisation, reduce logistics costs and lower the carbon footprint of supply chains across sectors.
“India’s manufacturing future will require packaging that is engineered, digital and sustainable. Over the last seven years, Econovus has built the design, engineering and manufacturing base to deliver green packaging solutions that cut both carbon and cost for our customers,” managing director Prasad said.
The funding comes as India’s engineering exports continue to hit new highs. According to the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, engineering exports rose to a record $122.4 Bn in FY26, accounting for nearly 28% of the country’s total merchandise exports and emerging as the largest contributor to India’s outbound shipments.
With global industrial supply chains expanding, demand for sustainable packaging solutions is expected to rise, creating growth opportunities for startups such as Econovus.
