Bengaluru-based Curaa has raised ₹40 Cr ($4.2 Mn) in a Series A funding round led by 3one4 Capital, with existing investors Kae Capital, Lumikai Fund and Better Capital doubling down on the D2C kitchenware startup as well.

The two-year old startup intends to utilise the fresh capital to broaden its product portfolio across pre-cook and cooking categories, expand warehousing and supply chain infrastructure, scale presence across D2C, marketplaces, and quick commerce, and hire senior leaders.

Founded in 2024 by Neeraj Kumawat and Sanjyot Keer, Curaa designs kitchen appliances and tools tailored specifically for Indian households. Its product portfolio spans choppers, blenders, hand mixers, kettles, and induction cooktops as well as tableware.

Since launch, it claims to have grown its monthly net revenue 25X and served over 3 Lakh households.

Notably, Keer is the founder of Your Food Lab, a culinary content platform with 7 Mn subscribers on YouTube and nearly 4 Mn Instagram followers. Curaa leverages audience insights from Your Food Lab to inform its product development and design.

“We led Curaa’s Series A round, driven by the conviction that the kitchen products market is ready for a structural transition from legacy commodity retail to trusted, product-led commerce,” 3one4 Capital said.

The kitchenware space has witnessed a wave of new-age D2C brands focused on premium, design-led, and health-conscious products.

Fuelled by these new entrants, the market is projected to grow at a 6.10% CAGR over the next seven years to exceed $5.5 Bn by 2033.

Investors, too, are taking note of the trend, and Curaa is not the only example. The Indus Valley raised a $17 Mn Series B round in June while Cumin Co raised $5 Mn in pre-seed funding led by Fireside Ventures earlier this year.

Some players are also building in the smart appliance space, integrating tech and AI into kitchen appliances. These include the likes of upliance.ai of Shark Tank fame as well as Posha and Beyond Appliances.
