BPC Brand Typsy Beauty Raises ₹20 Cr To Double Down On Quick Commerce, Offline Retail

Beauty and personal care (BPC) brand Typsy Beauty has secured ₹20 Cr ($2.1 Mn) in a fresh funding round led by Saama Capital, with participation from Genesis Luxury founder Sanjay Kapoor and SRF Family Office.
Existing backers, including Borderline Media founder Tanaaz Bhatia, family offices of Havells and Eicher Motors, also participated in the round.
The fresh capital will help the D2C startup deepen its quick commerce push and expand its offline footprint.
Besides, the Delhi NCR-based startup also intends to expand into skincare through hybrid skincare-makeup launches, and scale Spritz by Typsy, its fragrance sub-brand launched earlier this year.
Incorporated in 2022 by Kairavi Bharat Ram, Shashank Tibrewal and Shruti Gupta, Typsy Beauty is a beauty and cosmetics D2C startup that develops international-grade makeup formulations and sells at premium price points in the range of ₹600-900.
Operating a portfolio of 27 SKUs across lips, eyes, face and fragrance, the startup sells its products via its D2C website as well as online marketplaces such as Nykaa, Amazon, and quick commerce platforms like Blinkit and Zepto.
The startup is eyeing to launch 10 new products over the coming months.
“We’ve built a business with strong fundamentals – healthy contribution margins and a repeatable growth playbook across eight marketplaces. This investment gives us the resources to accelerate into new categories and wider distribution while maintaining the discipline that got us here,” Tibrewal said.
The fundraise comes at a time when industry giants are on the look out to buy out or partially acquire early-stage BPC startups which operate in a crowded market. Just yesterday, Nykaa announced that it was acquiring a majority stake in D2C skincare brand Aminu for a cash consideration of up to ₹32 Cr.
Prior to that, L’Oreal signed an agreement to acquire a majority stake in beauty and personal care startup Innovist in June. The precedent was set by HUL acquiring a substantial stake in BPC brand Minimalist, in an all-cash deal totalling ₹2,706.4 Cr, last year.
In this light, India’s cosmetics market valued at $15.46 Bn in 2025 is expected to reach $25.39 Bn by 2034, based on IMARC data.
